Introduction
The diversity of the American workforce is increasing. By 2016 adults over the age of 55 will comprise about 23% of the total workforce, and non-white workers will comprise about 30% of the workforce (U.S. Dept. of Labor, 2007). My training now focuses on instruction with older adults. Older adults have distinguished themselves in the workforce as under-represented in relation to technology today. Training for older workers is needed in order to bridge the gap between learning and the tools that younger workers are accustomed to using.
The following exercise is a futures analysis of the trends that we have been studying in class. My predictions are predicated on my desire to be inclusive.
